Welcome to planDisney, Derek!
I am so sorry that your dad won't be able to join the family when you head to
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It's a spooktacular way to celebrate the not-so-scary season, and it's always even more fun when surrounded by family & friends!
Derek, while
Special Event Tickets are not refundable, you have two options that might work for you. First, the unused ticket can be reassigned to someone else, so if you have anyone else who might be able to use that ticket, reassigning is super-easy.
Next, if your dad's ticket isn't used, the monetary value of that ticket does not expire. I called
Disney's Help Center and spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that you can put the amount paid for this ticket toward the purchase of
any Special Event Ticket at
any time in the future. That includes
Disney After Hours,
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party,
Disney Jollywood Nights, and more. Plus, this can be done at any time, any year, giving you more flexibility for future fun.
My husband and I had a similar situation a while back and were so happy to hear that the money we paid for tickets would be waiting for us when we were able to return to the magic. In fact, we were able to use that money to purchase tickets for our daughter and her friends several years later. What a treat to know that all is not lost...just a little postponed.
Derek, I wish your dad all the best with his health and hope that the rest of the family enjoys the opportunity to scout out the fun at The Most Magical Place on Earth. You might discover that a return to a Special Event is in your future--and some of that experience has already been paid!
As you finish the details of your pixie-dusted plans, Derek, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
