Hi, me and my family are coming to magic kingdom on October 1st. What's the best time to arrive for the welcome show? What do you think the crowds will be like at this time of year?

    Hi there Kelly!

Thanks so much for choosing to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I'm so glad that you decided to write in!

I absolutely LOVE the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show that happens each day as the park officially opens to guests for the day! It's a great way to set a magical tone for the day!

The show begins at 7:45am on Extra Magic Mornings and 8:45am on 'regular' park hours days. If you want to be there on time, be sure to plan to arrive at Magic Kingdom no later than 7:30am/8:30am to allow time to get through the bag check and ticket turnstiles before securing your spot with a great view of the train station up above! On days where Magic Kingdom has Morning Extra Magic Hours, this 'Opening Ceremony' occurs only once and at the earlier time when the park first opens for the day. You definitely want to be sure to enjoy this fantastic show at least once during your visit.

Early October is a great time of year to visit. I just left the parks yesterday myself and am happy to report that wait times and crowd levels definitely were lower than other times of year I've recently visited. You'll still want to take advantage of using Disney FASTPASS Service for the most popular attractions such as Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Test Track, Soarin', Expedition Everest and Toy Story Midway Mania!

I hope this information is helpful to you Kelly!
If you think of more questions, please don't hesitate to write me back. I'd love to hear from you again!

Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
