Hey, Kelly! Welcome to planDisney.
A dream is a wish your heart makes! I'm so excited to hear your dream is about to come true. A once-in-a-lifetime visit to The Happiest Place on Earth is just around the riverbend. Oh, boy! Your joy is about to soar to infinity... and beyond! I'm confident that your family will have the most magical time. And let me assure you, there is NO WAY you will ruin the holiday.
You are the magic! Your family will love Disneyland Resort because they get to share it with
you! I can already tell from your question that you're the kind of person who thinks about her family before herself. I'm sure your humble heart will touch the lives of your loved ones every moment of the trip. So hakuna matata, Kelly!
You'll be pleased to know that the
Disability Access Service (DAS) was created for Guests like yourself. As Walt said, "Disneyland is your land." DAS allows qualifying Guests to lessen their wait times to enjoy the attractions with their friends and family. With DAS, you are able to request a return time for an attraction. As you wait for your return time, you can enjoy other experiences in the theme park instead of waiting in the standby line. Once your return time arrives, you can use the Lightning Lane entrance. Once you enjoy an attraction, you can then request another return time at a different attraction. I've used this before with a friend and it's such a fantastic system.
You can pre-register for DAS online before your visit. Simply visit the
Planning with Disability Access Service page on the Disneyland Resort website. If you log in to your Disneyland account and click on the "Request Live Chat" button, you can initiate the DAS Advance process. The live chat feature is available between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM (PT). You'll also want your device to have a video camera. Depending on call volumes, you may enter a waiting room. You'll be able to speak to a Cast Member and they'll go through the process with you. You don't need to provide proof of your medical condition.
If you don't get a chance to go through this process before you arrive, you can also register for DAS when you arrive at Disneyland Resort. Simply visit Guest Relations at any theme park and mention that you would like to apply for DAS. A friendly Cast Member will be able to talk you through the process.
Once registered, this service is valid for the length of your ticket or up to 60 days, whichever is shorter. Make sure you download the
Disneyland mobile app. On the day of your visit, tap on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right of the app. You'll see the DAS feature magically displayed. This feature will show a list of available attractions. If you tap on an attraction, you'll discover relevant information about that attraction, plus the next available DAS return time. If you tap that time, you'll then confirm the members of your party who will be joining you for the attraction. Just note that you may only book one attraction at a time.
I hope that's helpful, Kelly.
Oh, one more thing: Make sure you utilize
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering. This feature on the Disneyland mobile app enables you to order food from a variety of quick-service restaurants, select a pick-up time, and then pick up your order without waiting in line. I'm sure it'll be super helpful for you and your family.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Kelly. See ya real soon!
