Hi Kim,
I rather like both of the resorts that you are considering. Both of these are moderate resorts, so you should find the prices to be comparable. Both have pools with waterslides. I really like the theme at each of these resorts.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside has a lush theme of Southern hospitality.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is situated around a lake and evokes Spanish-colonial Mexico.
Here are a couple of differences between the two resorts that might make a difference for your family. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort does often host business conventions. As such, you may see more adults there, especially those in business clothes and with name tags on lanyards. While this has never bothered me, some people do not like reminders of the work world while at Walt Disney World. The convention side of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort does mean that it has slightly more to offer in the way of lounges and dining options. Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is more spread out, whereas Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is more compact. Also, if either of your children are interested in the Princesses, Disney's Port Orleans Resort does offer the Royal Guest Rooms, which are decorated as thought Princess Tiana is hosting the other Princesses.
While I do seem to be leaning a bit toward recommending Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, I want to emphasize that I also do really enjoy Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. I would be very happy with a stay at either. I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Kim. Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
