My family is coming to DW 12-28-12 thru 1-6-13 I was wanting to know if there any special things that happen on New Years and is the park still decorated for Christmas and will we get the whole Christmas effect also?

Stacey, get ready to have a holiday blast at Walt Disney World!

You will experience marvelous, festive decorations throughout the parks and resorts the week after Christmas. The walk in gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, the Osbourne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, and the specially themed decorations at each resort and park will be on full display when you arrive.

In our family, New Year's Eve celebrations are so similar year after year I can hardly tell them apart. Ringing in 2013 at Walt Disney World will be a event you remember. While Disney has not yet released specific events for 2013, typically there is plenty of excitement. Traditionally the theme parks, except for Disney's Animal Kingdom, are open until the wee morning hours and host spectacular fireworks displays. Often select restaurants offer special meals, resorts have fun activities, and even DisneyQuest has hosted a party in past years.

    Have a magical holiday vacation!
