Hi My family and I are coming to Disneyland in April this year from Australia. We have 3 kids aged 8,6 and 3 and our 6 year old is severely disabled and in a wheelchair. We want to do as much as we can while we are there. What are your tips and advice?

    Hello Danielle!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I hope you are having a magical week. My son is autistic and has hypotonia so we are often using a stroller as a wheelchair and we still create a lot of Unforgettable Moments!

First, I would head to Guest Services as soon as you arrive inside either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. You can ask a Cast Member about the Disability Access Service. They will then ask a few questions to determine what needs you have and how they can help you.

Once you are given the Disability Access Service Card, you can then use that similarly to the FASTPASS at certain attractions. You would go to the FASTPASS entrance and show them your ticket that has the return time programmed on it. You don’t have to use it for all rides, just those that don’t have wheelchair access built in to the queue. A lot of the attractions in Disney California Adventure Park have a wheelchair accessible queue so you will probably use this feature more in Disneyland Park. Your entire family can use this feature as long as it is on an attraction your son will also be going on.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need anything else as you plan your visit!

    See you real soon!
