Hi Linda!
What a wonderful birthday celebration your family is planning!
I do recall back in 2012 Walt Disney World Resort held a special leap year event entitled "
One More Disney Day", when
Magic Kingdom Park was open for 24 hours. I remember at the time seeing many posts of Guests celebrating leap year birthdays. If you can only celebrate your birthdate once every four years, you may as well do it in style, right?
To the best of my knowledge, 2012 was the only year this 24-hour event was held; it was not repeated for Leap Day 2016. As of yet, there have not been any announcements regarding special events planned for Leap Day 2020. Your best bet will be to keep your eye on the
Disney Parks Blog; we'll see any announcements there.
Even if you can't visit Magic Kingdom Park for 24 hours straight, there are still many ways you can make the leap year birthday extra special.
Disney Floral & Gifts can deliver a special birthday surprise, and of course no birthday celebration is complete without
cake. Perhaps consider reserving a special dining event such as a
dessert party for a magical way to celebrate. How about a
birthday ear hat or
headband? That would be a fun way to let everyone know you are celebrating!
Linda, we welcome you to come back to the Moms Panel with any additional questions you may have. Enjoy your stay!
