Hi Nicky, welcome to planDisney. There's nothing like knowing you're soon to be a Guest at Walt Disney World to get us through the winter.
It sounds like you already know that Walt Disney World provides DAS to Guests who, because of a disability, cannot wait in a typical queue environment. As a fellow U.K. resident, I know we can't preregister for DAS. Not to worry, it takes mere moments to obtain DAS once you arrive at any Walt Disney World theme park by speaking with
Guest Relations to determine if it would be a good fit. The Guest requiring DAS should be present for this friendly consultation, which will only need to be completed once to be valid for your entire trip.
On to your second question, once at Walt Disney World, please note that all the complimentary transport available for Guests throughout the resort are accessible for all.
Disney's Skyliner, the romantic ferry boats, and legendary Disney Buses should have you arriving at your destination with a little sprinkling of pixie dust!
If you are thinking of transfers from the airport, the
three main options include a taxi or ride share, a bus or shuttle, or renting a car and driving yourself.
Mears Connect offers bus shuttle services between Orlando Airport and Disney Resort hotels. You can pre-book this from home. A good option for large groups and those who don't want to lug around car seats for little ones.
Rideshares and taxis sometimes offer better value than a shuttle based on your group size. This direct service might be quicker, as they only transport your party. You can download apps in advance to book such services, such as the Lyft App. When on Walt Disney World property, you'll also be able to book the iconic
Minnie Van through the Lyft app to get around - handily, these also have car seats ready to go, if needed.
The final option is car rental. If you prefer the flexibility and convenience of having our own car during our stay, please know that Disney Resort Guests receive complimentary parking at their Resort and Theme Parks.
Nicky, I hope this information helps today. We're always happy to help with any other questions at planDisney.
Have a magical day,
Louise
