    family of 4 coming to disney world 8/21-8/31/11. we have heard this is the hottest time of year. do you recommend we purchase hand held mister fans prior to arrival? how are the crowds normally during this time of year?

    It's gonna be hot, hot, hot in the big, silver pot, Cynthia! But it's not a bad thing. You arrive the day that summer season ends, so crowds will be down significantly. In fact, the crowds are projected to get lighter nearly every day from the moment you arrive. Plus, fewer people mean less physical barriers to block the coveted, occasional breeze from you.

    Staying hydrated is key. So is staying cool. Make sure you drink plenty of water. You can get ice water for free at any quick service location that has water dispensing capabilities.

    Those mister fans rock! The ones on sale at the parks are cool (zing!) and a little pricey. I'd suggest keeping an eye out on the summer shelves at your local [Target] store and stocking up accordingly.
