Justin from MD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My family and I are coming to Disney World with our first day on July 24th. With the upcoming change to Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, will we be able to have the same 7 days to book our rides? Or will we be scrambling on July 24th?

Welcome to planDisney, Justin! Thanks for bringing your question here to us.

Lighting Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass will go live on July 24, 2024 for all eligible Guests. You will be able to make your reservations for that day at 7 a.m. plus the length of your stay (up to 14 days).

On this exciting morning, everyone will be on the same playing field so to speak, but you'll want to have a plan for what you're looking to book. Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your selections:

    Lightning Lane Multi Pass:

    • You'll be able to make 3 reservations for eligible attractions ahead of time.
    • For each park, except for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, there are 2 groups of rides. You'll be able to choose 1 of the rides in the first group and 2 from the second. You can of course choose all 3 of your reservations from the second group if you'd like. For Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, there is only 1 group from which you can choose your 3 rides. You'll want to check the Lightning Lane page of the website for which rides fall into which group.
    • Each time you redeem one of these reservations, you can make a new one through the My Disney Experience mobile app (subject to availability).
    • If you are park hopping, you will book reservations for 1 park ahead of time and then you'll be able to book for a different park once you've redeemed a Lightning Lane on that day (subject to availability).
    Lightning Lane Single Pass:

    • You can book up to 2 of these attractions per person, per day.
It's important to keep in mind that standby lines will still be available for most attractions, except those using Virtual Queues. And of course, Disney is always looking to improve so these rules can change to ensure the Guest experience is the best it can possibly be. You'll want to follow along with the Disney Parks Blog for any news or updates on this convenient new system!

Best wishes for getting all the reservations your heart desires! If you have any other questions, I'm here for you.

Even miracles take a little time,
    Matt
