Hi Kelli,
I recently stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort. It was my first time to stay there in years and was very pleased with my experience.
Keep in mind that this resort is quite spread out. However, there is an internal bus in addition to the buses to and from the parks. So, you can use that internal bus to get to other areas of the resort if you don't feel like walking. There is a bus stop at each section of the resort, so no worries that you have to walk a great distance to catch the bus. Keep in mind that depending on where you are, you may have to make several stops around the resort before you are on your way to a theme park or vice versa when you return.
The
main pool, called Fuentes del Morro, is like an old mission-style fort complete with waterslides, cannon water sprayers, and zero entry pool. In addition, there are six other quieter pool around the property. You can also rent different kinds of boats such as paddle boats, canoes or sailboats. This can provide hours of fun if you want to take a break from the crowds at the parks. In the evening, you can go to the
complimentary campfire and sing-a-long complete with s'mores!
Old Port Royale is where you will find the food court (which has tons of options for a quick bite to eat all day),
Shutters (table service restaurant) and Calypso Trading Post (merchandise location).
I stayed in the Jamaica section on my recent trip and found it a very convenient walk to Old Port Royale and the main pool. Martinique and Trinidad North are also very close walking distance to Old Port Royale. Have a magical trip!
