My family and I are coming to Disney the end of July. I suffer from severe anxiety and have a fear of large crowds are there accommodations for people like myself to help with standing in large crowded lines for long periods of time?

Hi Byron, and welcome to planDisney!

Sometimes walking around the Most Magical Place on Earth can feel a little like Judy Hopps rummaging through the crowds of Zootopia. But have no fear! A visit to Walt Disney World Resort doesn't have to be stressful at all. In fact, there are so many ways to prepare and plan around those busier days.

First of all, you may be accommodated to have complimentary access to shorter queues (Lightning Lanes). Disability Access Service (DAS) is for those who find it difficult to wait in extended attraction queues, and you may qualify.

There are a couple of ways to potentially add the DAS accommodations to your trip:
    1) Virtual Pre-Registration: Complete an online pre-registration DAS Advance via a live video chat with a Cast Member. You may begin this process 2-30 days before your arrival. A Cast Member will decide if you qualify, and then they will help you book up to two (2) one-hour return windows for theme park attractions' Lightning Lane use.

    2) In-Person at Guest Services: On the same day of your first theme park day, you can register for DAS by visiting Guest Services in person at the theme parks' entrances. A Cast Member will help determine your eligibility and set you up for your first Lightning Lane return time of the day.

After you are set up for your first Lightning Lane return times, you can create your next selections yourself via the My Disney Experience app's DAS Self-Selection Tool. Or you can visit a Cast Member at the blue Guest Experience Team umbrellas around each park. I love that DAS can also be used by up to five additional party members, too. So, your entire family can stick together.

AN EXTRA GEM: Be on the lookout for those quieter areas in each theme park. For example, grab a LeFou's Brew at Gaston's Tavern at Magic Kingdom Park, and take a seat in the quaint, little area by the restrooms there. Also, my husband is not a fan of crowds at all, so his favorite spot is Disney Springs, the food and shopping district at Walt Disney World. He loves hanging out by the water and chowing down at the unique restaurants there.

Now, hop on over to the Resort with full confidence that you will have the BEST time! If you have any other questions as you gear up for your vacation, please do not hesitate to revisit us here at planDisney, Byron.

    Magic always,
