Hiya Amy!
Welcome to planDisney! I grew up staying at the
Disneyland Hotel and it's still my favorite, but I love that you're finding a way to explore a new hotel on the same trip. What a brilliant idea to mix your tradition with a new adventure!
Pixar Place Hotel is now open,
showcasing the best of Pixar art and stories! While we're still waiting for the debut of a couple of specialty suites, the vast majority of rooms are updated and ready for guests...and you are going to fall in love with that premium view!
Check out this video for a virtual room tour with Kristin, one of the Imagineers who worked on the project. So cool, right? While a little construction is always possible, I don't see anything major currently scheduled during your stay.
Now let's talk about some fun things you can do as a hotel guest!
- Just keep swimming! The Pixar Place Hotel pool is up on the roof and has an adorable fishy theme. No one knows how to cruise down a waterslide better than Crush the turtle! Over at the Disneyland Hotel, my kids love the Monorail Waterslides. Plus, the new Steamboat Willie splash area by the Villas at the Disneyland Hotel is just the cutest thing ever for little ones.
- Take a tour! I love the tour at the Disneyland Hotel, there is so much cool history there. Did you know that the hotel opened just three months after Disneyland Park? That means it's nearly 70 years old! There's a great tour over at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa as well.
- Enjoy a craft or activity. The options change with the season, but you can check the entertainment calendar as your trip gets closer. Movie nights and drawing lessons pop up on the calendar, too!
Don't forget that
Pixar Place Hotel has its very own entrance to Disney California Adventure Park! It's such a great perk for guests at that hotel and definitely saves you a few steps. Disneyland Resort Guests can also enjoy
early entry into one of the theme parks each day, so make sure you
check the schedule and make your theme park reservations for the park with early entry.
I hope you have a fabulous experience at both of these wonderful hotels, Amy! Thanks for letting me be your planning sidekick.
Let me know if you have other questions!Keep moving forward!
Amanda
