My family and I are coming in April and camping at Fort Wilderness. We are hoping to be at the rope drop at the Magic Kingdom at 9 but I'm not sure how much time to allow for travel from our campsite to the rope. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hey there, hi there, Meghan!

Thanks so much for visiting with the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Getting your day started early at any of the Walt Disney World theme parks is something I always recommend.

Disney's complimentary transportation usually starts running about 45 minutes before the parks are open. However, I have seen some buses and boats begin operation as early as an hour and half before the parks open. Mickey and his crew of Cast members know that there are many guests who are early risers and who are ready to jump right into the magic of their day.

I would suggest leaving your campsite at least an hour and a half before the park opens. So about 7:30am, start making your way to the ferry dock or bus station. This should give you plenty of time to make it to the Magic Kingdom entrance by 8:15am or 8:20am. The Magic Kingdom will open the gates around 8:30 and allow guests to take pictures and be ready for Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show. Once the show is over, guests will then be allowed to enter into each land.

Also, if you feel as though the buses and boats are running a bit behind, Uber and Lyft are available at an additional cost.

Enjoy your time camping at Disney! If you have more questions, please feel free to visit with us again!
