    Our family (children: ages 6 & 3) is planning a trip the first week of December & trying to make a decision on a hotel. What would be your top recommendations? We've looked into Polynesian, Floridian, Bay Lake, and Wilderness, but are open to sugg

    Hi Cortney,

    My personal favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotel is Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The majestic lobby, rustic yet well appointed rooms and the amazing theming of the Pacific Northwest are the reasons that I love this wonderful resort. What's even better is that you will be traveling during the holiday season and this hotel is stunning all decked out in its holiday decor.

    I also love that this resort is a deluxe resort that is often a bit cheaper than the deluxe resorts on the monorail line, but still in close proximity to Magic Kingdom. Another great reason to stay there are the restaurants. Both Whispering Canyon Cafe and Artist Point are among my favorite dining locations. The service and food at both are stellar and I don't think you would be disappointed.

    I think your kids will really enjoy this resort. While I have stayed there many times, my kids never have, but they have dined there several times. They have always loved seeing the huge lobby and totem poles and enjoyed rocking in the rockers by the fireplace. Something fun that the oldest one might enjoy (and maybe the younger one, too) is the Hidden Mickey hunt around the resort. Be sure to ask about it at the front desk. It might be a bit too tough for your youngest, but he or she still might enjoy tagging along for the hunt with your entire family.
