Hi Julie,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel for assistance with your question. Wow! What an awesome family tie you all share. While I, too, am
Disney Annual Passholder, I'm not lucky enough to be a Charter Member. Therefore, I needed to do a bit of research to get the right answer for you. As you know, Passholders who purchased an Annual Pass back in 1982 when they were first offered, and have never let their passes expire, are considered "Charter Passholders". Disney confirmed that, as you stated, if these loyal Disney fans get married and their spouse gets an Annual Pass within 12 months of marriage, their spouse is also entitled to purchase a Charter Annual Pass. Your sister will simply need to provide a certified copy of the marriage certificate to prove spousal eligibility. She and her new spouse can visit any of the
Guest Relations locations with photo identification and a copy of the marriage certificate. If she has further questions and wants clarification prior to heading to the parks, she can speak with a Cast Member in Ticket Services by calling 407-566-4985, choose option 5.
As a side note, if any one in your family has a little prince or princess in the future, they too, are eligible to become Charter Passholders. To accomplish this, you will need to purchase an Annual Pass for the child during the year that he or she turns three. You will need to bring a birth certificate for proof of the child's eligibility.
Normally I close by wishing guests a lifetime of Disney memories, but it would appear that you have already been blessed with that so far! I'm excited for your growing family to continue creating magical memories together. What a priceless treasure you all share. Cherish it!
