Hey there, Hanna. Thanks for bringing this question to us at planDisney. It looks like your visit to the Disneyland Resort will soon be here and you want to make sure your communication devices are A-okay for the parks. Roger that.
When taking a close look at the
list of items that are not permitted within the theme parks, I do not specifically see walkie-talkies on the list. Before entering the theme parks, everyone is required to go through a security check. Keep in mind that discretion will be left with security and they will make the final decision on whether or not the items are permissible. If they aren't allowed in the theme parks you will be asked to take them back to your hotel/car or surrender them at the security checkpoint.
That said, it's always good to have a backup plan. Something my family used to do back in the days before all of the advanced technology is agree on a meeting spot if we ever got separated from one another. Thankfully we never had to put this into action and we all knew what to do and where to be instead of having to ask "What's your 20?"
I hope this helps as you prepare for your most magical visit, Hanna. So many wonderful things are happening at the resort right now, starting with the
Disney100 Celebration. If you haven't already, be sure to download the
Disneyland app for your visit. You'll find a map of the resort with attraction wait times,
mobile food and beverage ordering options and a handy guide to all of the festivities of the Disney100 Celebration.
If you're a Marvel fan and visiting Disney California Adventure Park, my hot tip is to not miss
Rogers: The Musical. I was able to experience this recently and it was a fantastic show. I don't see any showtimes for your arrival date, however, I do see it's available the following day on August 1st (be sure to check the app for showtimes). If this is something you decide to do, I also highly recommend
joining the virtual queue for entry.
If you think of anything else you'd like to ask us, please come back to visit. Otherwise, I wish you and your family a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth.
Over and out,
Michelle
