Hi my family of 5 booked a trip to Disney and our friends ( a party of 3) booked for the same time we are going. We both have DDP and want to eat together . Can one party book dining reservations for 8 and then pay with Seperate dining plans at restaurant?

    Hello Mary!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great question!

I am happy to hear that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with friends. Planning together is very easy when you are connected through My Disney Experience, so be sure to add them to your Family & Friends list. You will not only be able to plan together but also share every aspect of your visit with each other.

You are welcome to make dining reservations and include your friends even when you have separate Disney Dining Plans. When you arrive at the restaurant, please let your server know that your party will be using different Disney Dining Plans to pay for your meals. Meal entitlements will be deducted from one of the members of each family, however do not forget that gratuities are not included with Disney Dining Plans, unless otherwise noted.

I usually bring extra cash to tip servers, or use my MagicBand to charge the gratuity amount to my Disney Resort hotel room. You may also use a credit card, a debit card, or Disney Gift Cards. Please note that an automatic 18% gratuity charge will be added to the bill for parties of 6 or more, so talk to your friends to decide how you would like to split that cost between the families when dining together.

Thank you for sending a question our way, Mary! I hope this helps you while planning and that you have a magical visit.

    Best Disney wishes,
    Thiana
