Hi, Kristi! Thank you for visiting planDisney with your question.
A Disney Cruise is the perfect choice for
families of all ages! With amazing interactive youth spaces and relaxing adult-exclusive areas, there is something for everyone! I've sailed in a concierge stateroom while my in-laws were in a standard cabin. I’m happy to share how we coordinated our boarding.
Port Canaveral has a designated waiting area for concierge guests, but only those sailing in a concierge cabin can wait there. My family chose to stay in the terminal with my in-laws and board with them during their boarding group. We skipped the private concierge lunch and ate as a large group at
Cabanas instead. Another option is for your parents to relax in the concierge lounge at the terminal, board early, and enjoy the private concierge welcome aboard lunch. You can all meet up later in the afternoon and explore the ship together.
I’m not sure how soon you leave, but the shoreside concierge team will email your parents to help them book Port Adventures and onboard activities. The concierge team was wonderful in helping us link our reservations so we could sit with my in-laws for dinner. They also arranged for our cabana at
Disney Castaway Cay, allowing us all to enjoy the day together. The concierge lounge and other concierge perks are limited to concierge guests only.
Kristi, it's a good idea for your parents to let the shoreside concierge team know in advance about any accommodations your dad might need. They’ll go above and beyond to ensure everything goes smoothly and your family has an enjoyable experience.
Here's to a fantastic cruise filled with unforgettable family memories! If you have any more questions as embarkation day approaches, please stop by and see me again. I'm always happy to share more of my experiences with you.
SEAS the adventure!
