Hi, My family of 9 are all booked into the Kidani Lodge for 6 nights. The children are 4,4,7 and the rest of the clan are adults. We would like to know how to book a pontoon boat to go out and watch the fireworks/light shows. Told it is a great way

Hi Ross, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

If you are thinking of trying a Disney Specialty Cruise on your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, you are in for a real treat! To this day, my family’s favourite and most memorable experience during any of our numerous Walt Disney World Resort vacations was our first Illuminations fireworks cruise. These cruises board and dock from Bayside Marina at Disney’s Yacht Club and take you for a spin around Crescent Lake before dropping anchor for a spectacular viewing of Illuminations. If you are looking for an extra dose of pixie dust during your trip, I guarantee this experience is absolutely magical.

Specialty cruises are also available for viewings of the Magic Kingdom nightly fireworks from one of the Magic Kingdom Resort area marinas.

With nine family members in your party, you will need to book one of the larger 25-foot pontoon boats for your cruise, which are capable of accommodating up to 10 people. For an even more exclusive and luxurious experience, you may want to consider booking the Grand 1 Yacht, which is also available for nightly viewings of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. For full pricing details or to book your Specialty Cruise, simply call (407) WDW-PLAY or (407) 939-7529.

If you are celebrating a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, you may want to further enhance your experience with decorations for your boat. With these packages, Disney does all the work so that when your family arrives at the dock to board, the boat will already be decked out (pardon the pun) in full party-style, complete with banners and balloons. While soft drinks and small snacks are included with each cruise, a large variety of additional menu items are also available for purchase, including specialty celebration cakes.

Wishing you fair winds and following seas!
