Hello, John and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question.
John, as soon as the evenings turn cooler, my mind immediately starts dreaming about the
holiday season and in my mind there is no better place to enjoy
the joys of Christmas than at the Walt Disney World Resort! I'm excited to hEAR that you'll be using those Disney Vacation Club points at
Disney's BoardWalk Villas! In the past, this property has touted some gorgeous holiday decorations that fit perfectly with its turn-of-the-century shore theme... complete with gingerbread!
Now, to your question about special activities, with the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, details surrounding holiday events like
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, haven't been released quite yet. My recommendation is to keep a close on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements so you'll be among the first to know what will be available.
When my family and I visited in December, one special activity that we loved (and was free) was walking through the
Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs. This is a great place to take family photos and let your toddler pose in front of his or her favorite tree!
Another favorite holiday event was the
Holiday Cookie Stroll. Historically held at EPCOT, this fun way to enjoy themed cookies immediately had me singing Christmas tunes in between bites! If this event is held again this year, your "
home away from home" at Disney's BoardWalk Villas is the perfect location since you can walk through the International Gateway into EPCOT's World Showcase!
John, I hope this helps as you are looking ahead to your December vacation. Don't forget to bookmark the
Disney Parks Blog so you'll be up-to-date when new information is released about the holidays. I hope you'll come back and see us here at planDisney with any other questions you might have!
Wishing you a vacation filled with happy memories and a wonderful holiday season!
Lauren
