    My family and I would like to book long weekend vacation to Disney World. I never seem to get a hotel what would you suggest and is it worth to go through RCI?


    Hi there, Jalaine! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by to see us! I’d be so happy to help you start to make magical vacation plans for your family. I am sorry to hear that you’ve had trouble booking a Disney Resorts Hotel Collection property in the past, but I will do everything I can to help you! 

    When I just searched for a stay beginning 12/1/21 and lasting one week, I found some Resort Hotel availability, including Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! Many Disney Resort Hotels are booked for those dates, as it is a very popular time to visit, but there are still some options available! Of course, depending on the size of your party, some of these Resort Hotels may not offer enough beds in one room to accommodate everyone. In that case, I suggest that you select no more than 4 people in the first room to see what may be available and add a second reservation if needed for additional Guests.

    I suggest you start by looking at the Disney Springs Resort Hotel Area when it comes to alternate lodging possibilities. Those Resorts still get you very close to the Magic and offer many amenities such as dedicated Theme Park transportation and proximity to Disney Springs for amazing shopping and dining! Of course, there are other Resorts in Orlando that you could consider, including those through RCI. Though I do not know much about those Resorts, I am sure that an internet search can yield reviews and first-hand information! While we recommend staying on property if possible, it is certainly possible to have an amazing Disney vacation while staying off property. Simply purchase your Theme Park Tickets and make Disney Park Pass Reservations in advance for everyone who will be visiting the Theme Parks!
