Hi Allison and welcome to the Disney Parks Mom's Panel! I have a family of 4 as well: 2 adults and 2 children. In our last three visits to WDW, which have range from 7-10 days, we have upgraded our dinning plan to Deluxe for a couple of reasons. A dinner service for 4 could range from $60.00-$70.00 in table service restaurants [like Tony's Town Place or Mama Melrose's] to $150.00-plus in Signature restaurants [like our favorites California Grill, Jiko - The Cooking Place or Artist Point]. Dinning represents a very important part of our vacation planning, so we start making our reservations six months before our vacation start - to make sure we reserve on time the restaurants we know we will enjoy and the kids will not forget. We also enjoy taking our children to character breakfast, as there is no better way of starting our days. Sometimes instead of an early breakfast we have an 11:00 am brunch. My family loves sharing dinner at one of the many Signature restaurants at Walt Disney World. Most of these restaurants, as well as the table services, have kid's menu with a variety of options to choose from. In some cases, we have paid the adult's meal using the dinning plan and paid cash the kids food, which have range from a pizza to macaroni & cheese - a flexibility we have taken into consideration whenever we have a tired kid wanting something simple and fast. So YES, I believe is worthy to upgrade your dinning plan to Deluxe. Let me know if I can be of more help to you. Enjoy your planning and Bon Appetit! Miguel
