Doug from UT Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

My family is going to be attending the week of Oct 5, and I see that the World of Color and Fantasmic dining options are closed for that week. Two things, is that a permanent closed (will never be open). And will the shows be shown that week?

Hi Doug! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so thrilled you have a visit to Disneyland coming up and am excited for all the frightful fun you're about to experience during spooky season.

Thank you for stopping by with your great question. I can understand your desire to plan ahead and maximize the magic during your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth (I'm the same way!), however, entertainment schedules are not released until about six weeks out. I encourage you to check the Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website as your visit gets just a little bit closer. If the recently released schedule is any indication, however, World of Color: Happiness! could be occurring nightly during your visit and Fantasmic! likely will be showing on weekends only - but this is just my best guess! You'll be able to confirm the most current information under "Fireworks & Nighttime Entertainment" on the Daily Events Schedule when it's six weeks out. Make sure your particular date is selected from the "Change Date" at the top. That said, it's important to know that the schedule can change at any time.

For a free World of Color viewing spot, join the virtual queue on the Disneyland app at 12pm the day you're in California Adventure. (I always set a reminder on my phone, so I don't forget, as I'm usually quite distracted chasing Jack Jack around on the Incredicoaster.) Then, make sure you're settled in your viewing spot a few minutes before show time, so you don't miss the unbelievably delightful Muppets Pre-Show. Disneyland isn't the only one celebrating 70 - so are our beloved Muppets! This quick "safety announcement" might be one of my very favorite entertainment offerings at Disneyland Resort right now - wocka wocka!

I hope this information has been helpful to you, Doug! I trust you'll be dreaming a fantastic dream in no time. If any other planning questions come up as you prepare for your upcoming visit, you know where to find us!

    Magic awaits,
    McCayla

Meet the Panelist: McCayla, Washington

Hello from the Pacific Northwest! I'm McCayla, a wife and mom dreaming of adventure in the great wide somewhere, yet also completely content watching Toy Story from the couch. My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
