My family will be attending Mickey's Backyard BBQ in July. We have 10 people including children going to the show from the Magic Kingdom. If the time I reserved was 5:30 pm, is that the time we arrive at the event or is that the time it starts?

Hello Erica, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a great dining question.

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ is one of my favorite dinner show experiences. The live entertainment is amazing and the food is delicious. Everyone will be able to enjoy their favorite mouth-watering picnic foods on the menu. You are in for a real knee slapping, foot stomping treat during this experience. The show is held outside at the Fort Wilderness Pavillion at the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. It is suggested that you arrive at least 40 minutes prior to the start of the 5:30 p.m. show. This will allow plenty of time for your party to get checked in and seated before the show starts.

However, if you have Category 1 seating, you will need to arrive at 4:30 p.m. to take advantage of your Character greeting experience with Mickey and his pals prior to the start of the show. You will also have early access to food and beverages served during the BBQ and enjoy a seat down front that is close to the show. So put on your dancing boots and bring your appetite to one of the best BBQ experiences west of the Mississippi. Keep in mind that character & dining experiences are subject to change, be sure to check with a Cast Member for any updates or changes to the show. Enjoy yourself and have a great time.

    See ya real soon,
    Andrea
