Hi Abigail!
Thanks for stopping by with your question!
I love that you referred to your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort visit as your "magical vacation". It's so awesome to know that you and your family are already anticipating the magical moments and memories that await!
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm not really a "crowd" person. I don't
mind being in the park when it's crowded, but I'm not a fan of feeling like I'm part of a cattle drive as a large crowd tries to move through the park. That's exactly what it can feel like when attempting to leave Magic Kingdom Park after the evening fireworks show!
What we like to do is find a great spot to watch the fireworks, enjoy the show, then hang back as the "mass exodus" of Guests begins. We find a place to sit down, or maybe head to a snack cart to purchase a treat to enjoy. Once most of the crowd has made their way out of the park, we take our time heading to the exit, enjoying the atmosphere, and maybe stopping to shop a bit!
Evening Extra Magic Hours can also help thin the crowd after the fireworks. On certain days, Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels enjoy extra time in the parks before they open and after they close. By choosing to visit Magic Kingdom on a day that has evening EMH, you'll miss the rush for the exit after the fireworks, and can stay to enjoy your favorite attractions with shorter lines.
In September, you'll get a chance to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park's new fireworks show,
Happily Ever After Nighttime Spectacular! While
Wishes is dear to my heart, and will be missed, I'm super excited to see the new show. I've heard it's going to be AMAZING.
Have a magical day! - Diane W.
