    Hi :) My family of 5 will be arriving to Disney on May 18th. We ordered our magic bands two weeks ago. When will they ship for our trip? We will be flying and need them for the magical express. Thank you!

    Hey there, Allison. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. 

    Aren't the new MagicBand designs that you can now purchase so cute? I recently got the one that says Disney Mom on it with Minnie Mouse bows and it's adorable! MagicBands typically take about 11 days from ordering to process and ship. With the mail running a little bit slower than usual, I wouldn't be too worried about it just yet. If you still haven't received your MagicBand and it is about 6 days out from your vacation, Walt Disney World suggests you reach out to MagicBand support line at (407) 939-4357. They will be able to figure out why there was a delay in your shipment and figure out what to do based on what's best for you. 

    In addition to your MagicBands, I suggest downloading the MyDisneyExperience app to your smartphone before your vacation. The app truly does it all and is so helpful. A feature that I really like is the ability to see wait times for all the attractions at Walt Disney World, you can even filter by which park you happen to be at. Also, to help keep up with physical distancing most quick-service dining locations are only offering Mobile Ordering at this time. From the app, you'll be able to view restaurant menus, customize your selections and pay for your food. When your order is ready, the app will send you a push notification letting you know which window or bay you can pick your food up at. You'll show this notification to the Cast Member working the entrance door and be allowed to enter to grab your food. I think the mobile ordering feature is great and really speeds up the process during busy times. This is one feature that I hope stays even when things go back to normal. Also from the app, you'll be able to view charges that you might make during your vacation using your MagicBand and unlock your resort room door. There are a lot of other features available to you within the app so I suggest familiarizing yourself with it before your vacation.

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
