My family is arriving in Disney on June9 in the afternoon. Would you recommend going to HS that day to see the Star Wars characters or wait until the next day. The next day is the last day for the Star Wars special, will it be extra busy that day?

    Hello, Susan!

We had this same question when we first attended Star Wars Weekends!

It will be crowded both days, however, not as crowded as the opening days of SWW, when so many collectors flock to the park in order to purchase unique one-of-a kind merchandise and bragging rights to first great photos posted!

If you have Park Hopper Passes, head to Disney's Hollywood Studios first. If you'd like to see characters, then getting there that first day will enable you to see some, identify who will be there the next day, (in the morning, perhaps) and get a few photos with favorites. The next day, you can have a better game plan for your earlier arrival, making sure to head to those events which are most important to you first, such as a photo with Jedi Mickey.

In other words, if seeing Star Wars Weekend or seeing characters there is important to you, I'd have that extra day as a backup plan in case you can't see what you want to that first 1/2 day. Should you wait until the next (last) day, it will be your only opportunity to see what you want to see. Worst case scenario? You've seen most of what you want to see that first afternoon / evening.  Again, with a Park Hopper, you've lost nothing (although I can't imagine leaving that early...!) That being said, you haven't really experienced a Star Wars Weekend until you're there before the park opens and have watched the Storm Troopers bantering back and forth from the TOP of the roof above the ticketing area! They are so entertaining, and really set the mood for the day to come!)

Enjoy your stay at Walt Disney World! I'm sure you're going to be mesmerized by Star Wars Weekends, too! Just remember, if anyone shows up looking suspiciously at your purchases or family members, just say "these are not the droids you're looking for..." and you'll be fine.

Send more questions when you have them! I'd love to help!
