My family and I will be arriving April 2026 in the morning and staying at a Disney Resort. Will we still receive free water park access on the day of arrival? Thank you!

    Hiya, Christine! Welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for sharing your splash-tastic question with us. April may seem far off now, but you’ll be immersed in the magic and enjoying all the Mickey-shaped snacks your heart desires before you know it. Woo hoo!

Walt Disney World recently announced the 2026 return of Cool Kids’ Summer and the water park perk that allows Disney Resorts Collection hotel guests to visit Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach for free on their check-in day. This is scheduled to start on May 26, 2026, so I’m sorry to report that the perk will not be available yet when you visit in April.

I’m sure this isn’t the news you were hoping for, but I would still highly recommend visiting Blizzard Beach during your upcoming visit (Typhoon Lagoon is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment). I visited Blizzard Beach on a recent trip, and a relaxing float around Cross Country Creek was the best way to kick off our vacation. I’d also highly recommend the Ski Patrol Training Camp and Tike’s Peak if you’re visiting with young kiddos. You can find all the attractions at Blizzard Beach here (availability is subject to change).

If you’re looking for other non-theme park activities to do on your check-in day, then you might consider a round or two of miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland. You could also pop over to Disney Springs for bowling or to check out all the other great dining and shopping options.

I hope this information helps with your trip planning, Christine. Pop right back if you have any more questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!

    Magical travels!
