Family going to AoA November 2014. Three of seven going have magicbands from previous trip. Will those 3 get new bands for next trip or use bands from previous trip? And, will four that don't have bands get them? How do we make sure to order correctly?

    Hi Michael,

As you probably know, the MagicBand program is still evolving. But as of now, all guests who are staying at a Walt Disney World resort receive a new band on each visit. I just got my fifth and can't wait to have a full set, one in each of the seven colors!

The batteries in the bands should be good for about two years, so you are free to use bands from previous trips if you like, as long as they are still actively linked to your My Disney Experience account. You can switch to your newest band, or you can alternate which band you wear each day if you want.

As your trip gets closer, you should have the opportunity to customize your MagicBands, choosing the color and a name to be printed on each. You  do this in My Disney Experience. Just go to the section called Magic Bands & Cards. In general, the bands have been arriving in the mail three to four weeks before the start of each vacation.

My family has loved the convenience of the MagicBands. I hope your family does, too.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you as your visit nears. Enjoy!
