We (family of 4/ ages 10-8) are planning on going to WDW in APril 2012. We know we want to stay in a deluxe resort, but we don't know which one. We are leaning towards the Animal Kingdom Resorts, but we are open to suggestions. Pros, cons and suggestions

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a beautiful resort, Brooke, inside and out! The pros of a stay there include the following:
    • Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a unique theme and design elements that make you feel as though you're on safari
    • On-site dining options are among the best on property
    • Proximity to the Animal Kingdom theme park is unbeatable
The only con I am coming up with is that proximity to all of the other major theme parks (besides Animal Kingdom) is sacrificed.  Animal Kingdom Lodge is beautiful in its own right, but it's not at all close to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios or Epcot.  Though, if your family would enjoy being at home in the wild (and willing to sacrifice a bit of travel time to the parks), then I'd say proximity isn't so much an issue.

I can assure you that a stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge is both unique and luxurious!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
