We are a family of 11, ages 5 months to 65 years old. We will be in Disney staying at Animal Kingdom. We wanted to do something fun for everyone and was wondering if the Illumination Cruise would be an option or what might you suggest.

Welcome back to planDisney, Mary Ann! Multi-generational trips to Walt Disney World can be an especially magical way for families to make unforgettable memories together. I'm happy to offer some suggestions for your trip this fall.

Currently, the fireworks and nighttime spectaculars throughout Walt Disney World resort are paused as part of the pandemic-related health and safety measures in place. As a result, all fireworks specialty cruises, too, are temporarily unavailable.

Now that we have the unpleasant news out of the way, we can move on to the good stuff. Did you know that Walt Disney World is celebrating it's 50th anniversary this year? The festivities kick off on October 1 and include special touches in each of the four theme parks. Your family trip is perfectly-timed to be able to experience The World's Most Magical Celebration! I would recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for further announcements about this extra special event and any associated offerings.

Since you're traveling with a large family, it might be the perfect opportunity to capture some of these moments on camera. Have you considered Memory Maker? It allows you to download all of your images for a single price. You can share them, print them and frame as many of them as you like.

Have you started thinking about dining reservations yet? Some of the best locations for large parties include Biergarten, Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant and Whispering Canyon Cafe

Your family is sure to have a wild time on this upcoming trip, Mary Ann. If we can be of further assistance, definitely stop by planDisney again. We're so happy to help!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
