Hi Jayne, welcome to planDisney!
Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation countdown is racing toward the finish line - I'm so excited for you! My tween daughter reached an exciting Magic Kingdom Park height milestone on our last trip; she was tall enough to drive her own car at
Tomorrowland Speedway. I followed behind at a safe distance, silently celebrating the fact that her driver's license is only valid in Tomorrowland.
According to
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person 14 years or older to board an attraction. In my experience, the child must be in the same ride vehicle as the person accompanying them. For example, your 6 and 8-year-old should be able to sit next to each other on
The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh because the accompanying parent can be seated in the same honey pot vehicle. They should not, however, expect to ride
The Barnstormer together because every two seats are separated by a coupling.
My best tip is to ask a Cast Member at the entrance to each attraction's queue about seating requirements/recommendations. In some cases, like
Peter Pan's Flight and
The Seas with Nemo and Friends, one adult and two children can fit in one attraction vehicle.
A few services to help your family maximize the magic during your visit are
Disney Genie+ service,
Rider Switch, and
Baby Care Centers, which are not just for infants. Please reach out to me
directly for more information about any of these topics.
Thanks for making planDisney a part of your dream team, Jayne. Best wishes for safe travels "across the pond" next month.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
