Hi Sophie, and welcome back to planDisney! I’m so happy you’ve come back to see us as you plan another magical getaway!
Our first character dining experience was when my son was three years old, and even though both of my children are teens now, we still love these fun experiences just as much as we did in the toddler years!
There are approximately
a dozen character dining experiences at this time, so you have plenty of outstanding options to choose from! If you've purchased a Disney Dining Plan, character meals are an excellent use of those credits. Did you know that kids ages 3 to 9 will receive a
free dining plan in 2026 when all other guests age 10 and up on your vacation package purchase a dining plan? This may be a great option for you with your daughter!
While all of the character dining experiences are great choices, these are the ones I love the most and return to again and again:
Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort - While I usually prefer table service for dinner, Topolino’s Terrace is the breakfast that I simply cannot miss! First, the food is
amazing. Try the Wood-fired Steak and Eggs, and don’t forget to ask for a refill of the pastries (
pro tip: they’ll bring as many as you want!). Second, these are some of my favorite character interactions. They are all dressed in European artist-inspired costumes that you won’t see anywhere else. Finally, be sure to step outside onto the terrace after breakfast for one of the most beautiful views at Walt Disney World!
The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom - This was our favorite character meal when my son was three, and it is still the favorite for my fourteen-year-old daughter now. This is the only place you can meet Pooh and friends all in one location. It is a buffet with plenty of delicious options. While dinner is our favorite, here’s another pro tip… during breakfast, this is one of only two locations you can get Churro Mickey Waffles other than on the Disney Cruise Line!
Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT - This is a hidden gem! Tucked away in the Land pavilion, this meal is served family style and the food is outstanding. The Chip ‘n’ Dale Harvest Feast is a crowd pleaser for both adults and kids. The dining room also rotates and gives you views of Living with the Land throughout the meal.
All of the three of these are one table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan (but Topolino’s Terrace would be two credits if you went for dinner). These next two are each two credits on the Disney Dining Plan and would also be amazing choices:
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge - This is one of the most unique character dining experiences we’ve ever had, and we
loved it! You'll meet Snow White, some of her dwarf friends, and the Evil Queen. Be sure to try the Poison Apple dessert, which is a work of art!
Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom - There is nothing more enchanting than a meal inside Cinderella Castle. It's a special experience for any little prince or princess! This is another excellent breakfast, but lunch and dinner are equally amazing.
