Hi. We are a family of 6. 2 adults and 4 kids. Which resort is best to stay at in January. I know it’s long weekend. Is there a benefit to stay at a Disney resort California or at nearby hotel. And can you leave your bags and car if you arrive early?

    Hey there Tina,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! It looks like you're planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort early next year - how exciting!

My family and I like to stay at one of the hotels of the Disneyland Resort whenever we're able to! For starters, when you stay at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels, you'll get to take advantage of the Early Entry perk. With this, you'll get to enter one of the parks early each morning of your trip - just make sure to set your theme park reservation to the park that is offering Early Entry each morning, which you can find in the Disneyland Resort mobile app or on the Hours & Events Calendar page.

Additionally, the Disneyland Resort hotels keep the Disney magic going through your whole trip and are all conveniently located within close walking distance to the Downtown Disney District and both parks of the Disneyland Resort.

My personal favorite is the Disneyland Hotel for its classic Disneyland charm! I also love the fact that it has The Coffee House, which opens early and is an easy spot to pick up a quick breakfast on the way to the parks - and you can use Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering from the comfort of your room to place your order.

With any of the hotels of the Disneyland Resort, you can park your car and leave your bags at Bell Services so you can immediately go into the parks while you wait for your room to be ready. To fully optimize this and if you're able, I'd recommend trying to arrive at the parks by the start of the Early Entry time on your first day since you'll be able to take advantage of this starting the morning of the first day on your reservation!

There are also a whole host of Good Neighbor Hotels to choose from as well, some of which are across the street from the park entrances! If your budget doesn't allow for a stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel then I'd recommend selecting one of these hotels instead.

Thanks again for your question, Tina! I hope you have a wonderful visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.

    Have a Magical Day,
    Greg
