Our family of 7 adults, 3 kids (7,5,2) will be there for 5 nights, Sept. We arrive at Orlando airport at 12 noon and fly out 5pm. Rest of days are booked ( 2 MK, 1 AK, 1 Epcot) but I'm questioning what to do 1st & last days. Park, Resort pool at Bay L

    Hi Christina,

This sounds like a great plan. Your question was cut off, but it sounds like you're all staying at Bay Lake Tower? What a wonderful Resort Hotel! I think a great way to start your trip is to book a dinner at 'Ohana, just a hop, skip and jump away on the monorail. If you arrive early enough, enjoy some pool time before dinner. Have your bathing suits packed in your carry on luggage because Disney's Magical Express typically does not deliver luggage for a few hours, or even later. After dinner, head out to the Polynesian beach to watch the fireworks. There are several great restaurants along the monorail or nearby: 1900 Park Fare (character dining!), Chef Mickey's (character dining), Whispering Canyon Café, or Kona Café, to name my favorites.

Don't forget about Downtown Disney. No theme park admission is required and the dining, shopping and entertainment options are plentiful. Disney transportation can bring you to and from for a relaxing first or last day.

Disney's Magical Express will pick you up around 3 hours prior to your flight, so I would book a breakfast in the area and then enjoy the pool until the bus arrives. Our family has done all of the above mentioned ideas on our arrival and departure day, and with little stress. That is key! Keep it simple and you'll have a great time.

Any other questions, Christina? I'm happy to help.
