My family of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids ages 7, 8, and 9) will be coming to WDW in Sept. 2011 and driving in 2 cars. We are planning on staying at the Pop Century Resort. Should we use disney transportation to and from the parks or should we drive?

    Brandy:

I go back and forth on this one, but after waiting 40 minutes for the bus this past weekend at Downtown Disney and seeing no less than 28 buses to every other resort but mine ride by, I have to tell you to take your own car to the parks.

The hassle of you taking two cars is nothing compared to the anguish of having tired kids whine on hot pavement if they have to wait long for a bus...the parking is free for resort guests, and the drive to nearby Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios for you is minimal.

My exception to taking your own transportation, though, is Magic Kingdom.  If you drive your car, you'll have to park at the Ticket & Transportation lot and then either ride the ferry or the monorail to the park--about the same time it would take to wait on a bus that will drop you off pretty near the gates.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
