Ahoy, Jelly! Welcome to planDisney! I am thrilled to meet you here as you begin planning for a magical adventure at sea.
If I understand your question correctly, you would like to book a
Disney Cruise Line vacation for your family of four. On the date you want, you can find a stateroom for two adults, but you cannot book it with four Guests even though the stateroom sleeps four. I know this can be confusing, but it can happen. Usually, this means the cruise is nearly full. Disney Cruise Line may have staterooms available, but they are also balancing the number of Guests assigned to lifeboats in the unlikely event of an emergency that requires evacuation. My guess is that there are staterooms available, but they can only accommodate smaller parties for safety reasons.
I know this can be frustrating and limit your options for choosing the ideal itinerary. I wish I had a solution for you, but I only have suggestions to offer. Keep checking, especially if the cruise has not yet reached its "paid in full" date. Cruises of 6 nights or longer must be paid in full 120 days before sailing, while cruises of 5 nights or less require payment 90 days before the cruise. You may find staterooms for four Guests may become available as the final payment date approaches.
If waiting is not your style, you can see if there is another
itinerary that works for you. You can also
call and speak with a Cast Member to explore other options, if any.
Jelly, I hope this insight into why the cruise may show availability for smaller parties, despite the stateroom size, is helpful. If I did not understand your question or if you would like to follow up with me, you can
ask me a question directly. You are also welcome to visit us at
planDisney any time with your questions. We're here to help!
Magic Awaits!
