Hi Betsy!
Oh boy, a Disney cruise to the
Bahamas sounds practically perfect in every way! Castaway Cay is my absolute favorite destination, so I’m happy to hEAR you’ll be soaking up the sun on Disney’s private island this summer.
You are so smart to make sure what travel documentation is needed for your sailing. Currently, a passport is not required for U.S. citizens sailing on Disney Cruise Line itineraries leaving from a U.S. port and returning to the same U.S. port. So your sailing from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas falls in this category. That said, I always suggest that you check the
Passport and Travel Documentation link on Disney Cruise Line's website for the most up-to-date information on what the travel requirements are.
For your voyage, all Guests 16 and up will need to present an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate AND a government-issued photo ID. Children 15 years of age or younger need only an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate (no government-issued photo ID for them).
While you are thinking of things needed for your cruise, I also recommend downloading the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. It’s an incredible resource onboard for finding showtimes, dinner menus, activities, character greetings, and MINNIE more! I also love the countdown feature to see how many days before we set sail. I’d say we all could use a countdown calendar right now!
Hoist the main sail up with more questions-we here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel would love to assist you in your cruise planning. Wishing you a blissful vacation and a magical day at
Castaway Cay!
SEA ya real soon!
