Welcome to planDisney, Theresa!
Although I love trips to my Happy Place, Walt Disney World Resort, with my family of four, I often find myself alone with my two little ones. So, I am more than excited to answer your question about what to expect during your upcoming visit to the Disney Parks.
The fantastic news is that two of your kiddos are tall enough to ride everything at Walt Disney World. Woohoo! My older son just hit this milestone, too, and it’s something to celebrate. The only ride situation that your two taller kiddos can’t do alone is being in their own car at the Tomorrowland Speedway (54 inches). But they can definitely partner up with someone! Check out
this webpage for all of the theme parks’ height requirements.
Speaking of this classic attraction, there are many other rides at
Magic Kingdom Park where at least one adult and two small children can ride in one row. In fact, most of them you can! The only exceptions that I can think of are the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, and Astro Orbiter. For all of the others that are possibilities, keep in mind that it will be a bit more difficult to do this with your bigger or taller kiddos. To give you an idea, my sons are 42 and 49 inches and the three of us can comfortably fit in a Doom Buggy on Haunted Mansion, but it’s a tighter squeeze when we ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
At
EPCOT, all rides except Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind can fit at least three across. At
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, my favorite park to explore, all rides (except Expedition Everest) can fit an adult and two small children in a single row. Over at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios, many rides can fit three across, but there are a handful that cannot. These include Toy Story Mania!, Slinky Dog Dash, and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run.
AN EXTRA GEM: If your taller Mouseketeers are aged 7 or older, they can sit in a row without an accompanying adult. This could help when arranging who sits where if and when you have to split rows for rides like Slinky Dog Dash or Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. In these cases, I will ride with my smaller child, and my older kiddo will ride in front of me.
You are going to have so much fun with your family of 6, Theresa! Please
revisit us here at planDisney if you have additional Disney vacation planning questions. I’m all ears!
Magic always,
LeAndra
