Family of 4 (2 adults, and 2 boys-4 and 14 mo.) going to DW for the first time in early September. We chose the Deluxe Dining Plan- this seems like a lot of food- but may be a nice respite from heat. Having second thoughts-Am I crazy for doing this?

    Hi Alexis:

First of all congratulations on booking your first family vacation to Walt Disney World Resort!  You are going to make magical memories that will last a lifetime!  You are not crazy for choosing the Deluxe Dining Plan.  My family and I typically choose this plan, and use it to dine at several Signature Dining Locations as well as Dinner Shows that require two entitlements from your dining plan.  I also would much prefer a Table Service meal as opposed to a Quick Service meal any day.  I do find that it is a lot of food, and I will usually make a breakfast and dinner reservation for everyday, and enjoy a Quick Serve lunch if need be.  I would recommend taking your boys to Mickey's Backyard BBQ: it is a great dinner show suitable for the entire family!

We always have snacks left over and I like to bring some treats home for my daughter to enjoy in her lunch at school.  It is a nice surprise for her and keeps the magic alive for a little while longer.

Please let me know if you have any other questions as your first visit approaches.  I would love to hear from you again!
