Hi there Dana! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It's great to see another Marylander here. I'd be happy to assist with your planning question.
It sounds like you have a fabulous family gathering planned for next month. Yay! I love visiting the Walt Disney World Resort in the spring. The weather is fantastic; it's just what Snow White's friend, Doc, ordered after a long, cold winter in the north! My husband and I are teachers, and our spring breaks frequently align with Easter, so I have some experience visiting during this particular time of year.
Dana, I do not think you have anything to be worried about in terms of the Magic Kingdom Park reaching capacity by 10:00 on Easter Sunday. Occasionally, and only on the very busiest days of the year, the Walt Disney World theme parks operate under a phased closure system due to capacity constraints. One of the benefits of being a guest of a
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, or holding an
Advanced Dining Reservation in a theme park, is that your ability to enter a theme park is unaffected under the first three phases of capacity closures. Only at the final closure phase would a theme park not allow any guests to enter. According to a Cast Member I spoke with, this final closure phase restricting all guests has not happened in over ten years. You and your family will have no problem enjoying your Sunday brunch in the Magic Kingdom Park. Hakuna Matata!
I know you mentioned that your party is not able to arrive early to the
Magic Kingdom on the day of your reservation, but I strongly recommend allocating plenty of time to travel to the theme park, pass through security, and tap in at the entry point. While I do not believe you will experience any capacity closures before 10:00 in the morning, the park will be busy, and it may take longer than you expect to get where you want to be.
I hope that helps ease your mind as you make final preparations for your magical vacation. Be sure to keep your eyes on the
Disney Parks Blog for up to date information on any special events that may be occurring during your visit.
See ya real soon!
