Hi Jamie,
There are so many wonderful Resort Hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort that it makes it difficult to choose! It all depends on your family's needs, budget, and the type of experience you want to have during your visit.
If you're looking for theming and value, then I recommend
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. The Little Mermaid Standard Rooms only accommodate up to 4 people so you will need to book a Family Suite. The Family Suites in the Cars Wing are magnificently detailed, and the themed landscape brings the film to life. Characters including Lightning McQueen, Mater, Fillmore, Sarge are on hand for some fantastic photo opportunities! There will be a bit more travel time when commuting to and from the Theme Parks should you choose to stay at this Resort so just make sure to plan accordingly.
If it's location that you're looking for, then I suggest
Disney's Beach Club Resort or
Disney's BoardWalk Inn. Both of these Resorts are within walking distance of Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios and are in close proximity to
Disney's BoardWalk. You can also travel to Magic Kingdom Park by way of the Epcot Monorail. The only Theme Park that would require you to use Disney Bus Transportation is Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. For families with young children, these Resorts are ideal since you can easily head back to your Resort Hotel for naps or pool time if you need a break from the Theme Parks.
I hope this information helps! Please stop back by should you have any more vacation planning questions!
