My family absolutely loves the Pixar Play Parade but I just learned that it sometimes takes a hiatus. Is there any way of knowing whether it will be going on for our next Disneyland visit, ideally April 11-17? We would hate to come during its break!

Hello, Brooke! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. If you love Pixar and the Pixar Play Parade, then I have some exciting news for you!

At the D23 Expo last month, it was revealed that a whole lot of Pixar fun will be added to the Disneyland Resort in 2018. This includes a total re-imagination of Paradise Pier in Disney California Adventure Park. It will become Pixar Pier where you will get to explore areas dedicated to The Incredibles, Inside Out, and Toy Story. There will also be a new Pixar Fest that will feature a Pixar-inspired fireworks show and your favorite, the Pixar Play Parade, will move over to Disneyland Park. We aren't quite sure the dates that all these new experiences will begin. So, you will definitely want to keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog as your dates approach.

If all this Pixar goodness hasn't quite premiered by the time you visit, then it's possible that the Pixar Play Parade will still have performances in Disney California Adventure Park as it does currently. The one thing that might complicate your plans would be if the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival returns in 2018. Historically, that has run from mid-March through mid-April. This festival brings an extraordinary amount of tasty food and drinks to the park through a variety of food booths. When the festival is set up, that usually means the parade can't run. But again, it's a bit too soon to know for sure what the schedule will look like next year, so stay tuned! And please stop by the Disney Parks Moms Panel again with any other questions you might have.
