Hello. We are 4 families (16 total) and we are planning a trip to WDW on June 2019. What would be the best way to plan our trip where we can be in the same room or close to each other. Also have separate dining plans and tickets.

    Hi Diana,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Let me go ahead and say it - you are the planning super star of the family!

When I have planned for group travel with family or work, I have used a travel agency at times but have also booked directly through the Walt Disney World Travel Company. I prefer to book directly with the Walt Disney World Travel Company, but, if you go this route, you commit to spending time online and/or on the phone managing the reservations and group plans. If you prefer to let someone else do that for you, then go with a travel agency!

Once you book your vacation packages, just be sure that those reservations are linked. A cast member can link them or your travel agent can ensure they are linked. Also ask the cast member or the travel agent to request that your rooms be close to one another - you can request adjoining or connecting rooms although these rooms may not be available at the resort hotel.

When I am traveling with a group, I also try to link all of us in My Disney Experience. Doing so makes it a lot easier for us to plan together. Since I typically make everyone’s Fast Pass+ selections and dining reservations, I get a sense of what the group wants to do, then when it comes time to make those selections, I am ready. If you are staying in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you can make advanced dining reservations 180 days in advance and Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance of your trip.

Diana, once you make dining reservations, have each family map out those dining experiences to be sure they have enough meal entitlements. I always create a chart for the entire trip to be sure that we do not run out of meal entitlements before the last day!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
