This my families first cruise and we are a bit nervous. We are wanting to travel on the Disney Wish May 2024. I will be traveling with my 2 kids (9 & 12), my husband, and my mom (63) and my dad (60). What travel documentation do we need?

Ahoy, Shyla and welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you dropped by with your question.

Shyla, as a fellow Mom (my kids are ages 10 and 12), I'm excited to hear that you're considering a Disney Cruise Line vacation! There really is something for every age aboard Disney Cruise Line. My kids loved exploring the ship, the shows, the games, and of course, the kids' clubs. My youngest son was so awed by the soft-serve ice cream that was available all the time that when he returned home, that was the first fact he shared with family and friends!

Now, Shyla, in order to experience all there is to see and do aboard the Disney Wish, let's talk about travel documentation. Your required paperwork really is dependent on the itinerary you choose and your citizenship status. So, if you are a U.S. Citizen sailing from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas and returning to Port Canaveral, everyone in your party will need to present either an Original Valid US Passport, an Original valid US Passport Card, OR the following:

a Government-issued photo ID along with one of the following:
         - Original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate*
(Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/10 are not acceptable)
         - Original Consular Report of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State, or
         - Original Certificate of Naturalization issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

NOTE: Children 15 years of age and younger are required to present one of the documents listed above, but do not need to present a Government-issued photo ID.

Shyla, I hope this information helps as you are planning ahead. Once you have booked your cruise, you'll upload all of your information to the Disney Cruise Line website prior to your arrival at the port. It's also important to know that other Disney Cruise Line itineraries require a passport, so should you cruise in the future, you'll want to check the requirements again.

If you have any other questions or need recommendations, please don't hesitate to come on back to planDisney. We love to see a returning guest!

Best wishes for a Magical vacation,
    Lauren
