Sounds like your advanced planning has paid off because you have snagged some fantastic dining reservations! Ariel's Grotto is a great choice for a dinner a California Adventure with its unobstructed view of Paradise Pier and Paradise Bay! Ariel and her Disney Princess friends stop by each table during dinner service to sign autographs, chat, and pose for pictures. The undersea themed restaurant features a Prix-Fixe Menu including family style salads and desserts, that even the youngest member of the family will enjoy.
My personal fave at California Adventure is the all new
Carthay Circle Restaurant and Lounge. This retro inspired restaurant is modeled after LA's original Carthay Theatre where Disney premiered Snow White in the 20s. The atmosphere is casually elegant, and although kids are more than welcome (There's an awesome kids menu), this is a unique experience that the adults will savor as well. I have dined here with my husband and 5 year old daughter on several occasions and it has quickly become our favorite Disneyland dining destination. My daughter said she recommends the Udon Bowl for your boys!
One other option, is
Storytellers Cafe located in the Grand Californian Hotel and easily accessible from DCA's entrance into the hotel near the Grizzly River Run attraction this is. Although characters are only present here during breakfast, I think your sons would really enjoy the "make your own pizza" option from the menu while you adults fill up on the delicious buffet items or a la carte menu!
Please be sure to write back with any additional questions you may think of as your trip approaches! I am a Disney foodie and am more than happy to make suggestions about dining or anything else if you need them! Amanda F.
