Hello, Jeff!
I hope you are looking forward to participating in the
2014 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend! This year marks the 5th anniversary of this unique nighttime race event, so it should be fantastic.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is a fabulous resort with an excellent location within Walt Disney World®. However, you are correct, this resort is not considered a host hotel for this race weekend and will not be providing event transportation to race activities. Here are a few suggestions to help you get around.
- A taxi service will be your most direct route to the starting area, and your only option back in the wee morning hours following the Wine & Dine Finish Line Party. Additionally, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is not located far from the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex where the race begins, so your fare to the start should be relatively low.
- An alternative to a taxi service to the starting line would be to take theme park bus transportation to Disney's Animal Kingdom and then board a resort transportation bus to Disney's Pop Century Resort, or an All-Star Resort. From there, you can take event transportation to the race start. A bit more of an adventure, but it would save you a little dough for the After Party. Just remember, you'll still need a taxi service to get back to Disney's Coronado Springs Resort post race and party.
I know it's not the ideal transportation situation, but at least you have a few options to work with. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any additional questions you may have, Jeff! I am here to help.
Have a great race!
