Hi, Jodi!
It's never too early to start planning for your first Disney Princess Half Marathon - it's part of the fun! Unfortunately,
runDisney can not yet confirm dates for the 2016 event. With so many new and exciting things from
runDisney still on the horizon, it's possible there could be a change in date by then. However, I still want to encourage you to plan and prepare for this race to occur the third weekend in February, keeping in mind dates are subject to change.
When it comes to your race costume, comfort and practicality are key! Nothing can ruin your race experience more than a running outfit that causes discomfort and/or chaffing issues that may inhibit your ability to run, 13.1 miles is a long time to be rubbed the wrong way. Here are some tips to finding a costume that works for you.
- Search
runDisney costumes on Pinterest and begin "pinning" your favorite ideas.
- Look on Etsy for
runDisney costumes. Many people put their talents to good use here by offering custom made costumes.
- Purchase dri-fit running gear in solid colors representative of your favorite Disney Princess and purchase accessories at your local party store for some DYI flare.
- Look into online retailers offering themed running gear such as:
•Sparkle Skirts
•Sparkle Athletic
•Raw Threads
