Welcome back, Wendy!
I hope you are still excited for your upcoming vacation! October will be here soon.
The one mile kids' race is the perfect way to introduce children to the sport of running while experiencing the magic of Disney. My children have done several of the Kids' Races so I'm very familiar with how they function.
This one-mile course takes runners through the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and while there are no character photo stops along the route, Mickey will be waiting at the finish line for a big high-five! In addition, children have the opportunity to run around the warning track of Champion Stadium and see themselves on the jumbotron. This is also a great spot for you to spectate and view your child as they run through the stadium. My son said he loved seeing me in the stands cheering him on--and once he passed by I headed to the finish-line to met him in the parent pick-up zone.
Once your child crosses the finish line they will receive their Finishers Medallion and refreshments. There will also be a DJ there to entertain and lead families in a dance party in addition to some fun activities.
I hope this helps, Wendy. And please do not hesitate to send any additional questions you may have my way. I am here to help take the guess work out of
planning your runDisney race experience.
Wishing you many magical memories!
Faith
